Video — Fundamental existence of God outside The Simulation

The Christian tradition says that only God exists entirely independently, so God is the only fundamental being. Our souls, not necessarily tied to humanity, do not depend totally on The Simulation; still, souls need The Simulation to fulfill their destinies (Habakkuk 2:3). However, souls also rely completely on God because He is the ultimate arbiter of everything. God’s essence is given in His name: I am (Exodus 3:14–15). His name says He is the One who is and who will always be. We can find Him in our past and presence and recognize His activities. The eternity of God means that He fundamentally is, as His name says (Isaiah 57:15). He has no beginning and no end and does not depend on anyone. The Simulation is infinite. It has a beginning — God created it — and it depends solely on God’s decision and His ultimate freedom. Infinity does not mean there is no ultimate end. It also depends on God’s decision.
