The New Global Wine Score Formula
In order to continue bringing you the most reliable wine rating information, we have updated the Global Wine Score calculation and added additional journalists to our database.
What‘s New?
The Global Wine Score (GWS) now follows critics independently of their publication so that there is no interruption in our score when critics move from one publication to another.
The old GWS formula was based on the average rating of each publication including every critic writing for the publication. The new GWS formula looks at each critic independently and develops a normalised score for each critic before calculating the GWS. This new process allows us to continuously report balanced ratings with a coherent scale regardless of where the critics publish their scores.
Now bringing you more wine scores
The new GWS also brings you scores from new wine critics including those from Burghound and Anthocyanes. These additions enhance the GWS by expanding our pool of experts and bringing you more information from the industry’s most respected experts.
