The Golden Horde — Why Should You Join The Horde?
In the past month we’ve discussed why Ark is such a great ecosystem, how the DPOS system works incredibly well to fuel community engagement and how it creates a fair democratic governance system. What we do need to now discuss in greater depth is our role in all of this, our vision for the future and what we have in store for our voters.
On July 26th we launched our proposal to the Ark community and showed what we planned on achieving, we launched this proposal earlier than we envisioned because several factors in the delegate positions had changed so we felt it was the right time. This article aims to go over some common questions we get asked and also a greater explanation as to, why you should join The Golden Horde! For those wanting the original proposal:
The Devil Is In The Details
Let’s immediately start by saying that what we want to bring to Ark is definitely out there, we’re aiming to create an ecosystem that benefits the entire Ark community starting with cool crypto merchandise. We’re never going to have a roadmap that is fully completed and we can make a promise to you that we’re always going to be creating crazy ideas, implementing fun services for our voters and always looking to get new people into Ark.
As it stands right now, we’re in the very first phase of our plan, we’ve successfully got into a forging position and our ideas are becoming known to those in the community. Phase 2 will be introducing our sliding scale payout system and website which is in the making that will be released soon, our Merchandise shop which will be launching by the end of this year and our Loot Point system that is being fleshed out. For our voters and the Ark community members, this means we have a whole lot of great things coming for those who stand by us.
Why Does The Golden Horde Exist?
As we mentioned in one of our last articles about the great system that is DPOS. We mentioned that in the future delegates could not only provide a community support and growth role, but provide a service or product to voters and run as a business, which gives the delegate more tools to in turn perform the very community support and growth role that delegates originally were tasked to undertake. We created The Golden Horde as a way to give something different to our voters, without robbing voters of the choices they wish to make.
In our system, voters can garner Loot Points to use on merch or our future software services and features but only do so in a manner they deem feasible. We didn’t want to create something that would force a new feature onto voters, if you wish to receive Ark then you can receive Ark just like any other delegate. What The Golden Horde does is provide choice to the voter, choice that is backed by initiatives from us, which in this case is merchandise to show the potency of the Loot System. If you’re a fan of awesome artwork, designs and merchandise then you will certainly want to join the horde and be a part of our community. This merchandise system also allows us to attract the attention of the wider cryptocurrency community, which also happens to be Ark’s target demographic, so we’re in a perfect spot to perform outreach and gain new members.
This is why we believe The Golden Horde is such a potent idea and why we set off in the first place to put all of this together, we believe we are a delegation that can appeal to the entire Ark community, whether it be through merch or just playing an active role in the community and being a bastion of support for voters, there is potential for everyone to like something that we stand for. So if you’re looking for a new way to get something extra out of voting for a delegate, you have to look no further than us.
Tell Me More About The Payouts
As it stands right now our payout is 90% paid weekly to our voters and we make sure to cover voting fees which are paid back to new voters with their first week’s payment. In the future payout preferences can be set through our ‘Sliding Scale Payout System’.
The Sliding Scale Payout System allows the voter to choose how much Ark and Loot Points they wish to receive, this is done through a scale so the voter can choose the perfect balance for them. The Ark % will cap at 90% as we use 10% to ensure we can keep growing our system and providing further great content and services to the community. Those that want to receive a lot of our great merchandise can drop back the Ark % in favour of garnering more Loot Points that can be spent in our merchandise store and other features discussed further in this article!
The Loot Points Ecosystem
In the future, Loot Points won’t just be for merchandise from our store. In the near future it will be usable for crates of merch and community items that we tailor and send out on a monthly basis, this is a fun way of getting awesome items delivered to your door whilst having suspense and surprise at what each months crate will bring.
In the distant future we will be expanding to create quality software services that will be free to use for those who have Loot Points, we’re incredibly aware that we need to ensure that new content and creations are provided to our voters in order to keep The Golden Horde experience fresh and fun for those who support us on our journey and it’s exactly what we aim to achieve.
How Will We Attract New Members From The Wider Community?
We’ve mentioned that a brochure will be created which will serve as an introduction for our customers to the Ark Ecosystem. We’re working hard on getting this ready and most importantly, making it appealing and attractive to those viewing it. Luckily, Ark is such a great platform that it really has appealing features for many people, so as long as we can provide a broad insight into the Ark Ecosystem then it will be far easier getting new members involved.
On top of this we’re working on a landing page to go hand in hand with the brochure so that we can have a digital version for anyone to read and learn about Ark, we will have a QR system that when scanned will take the user from the brochure to the web page.
We’ve also got a design competition underway for artists to create artwork for Ark and Ethereum in a way to get Ark more exposure, which is a joint competition hosted by us, the ACF and Ark team.
So With All Of This Said, Why Should I Join The Horde?
If you’re a fan of being apart of a movement that aims to grow Ark, then you’ll like us and feel right at home in our community. If you enjoy seeing crazy ideas come to life, awesome artwork being created and fun ways to enjoy cryptocurrency and blockchain technology then you’ll fit right in at The Golden Horde. Alternatively if you just want a stable delegate where you tailor what you, the voter can get out of a delegation then you’ll also perfectly fit in with us, at the end of the day we value transparency and the ability for our voters to command their own destiny and preferences, our sliding scale will work perfectly in this regard.
We’re glad to have all the Ark community support us and we’re incredibly excited to get the community together through various means, some which we can’t reveal just yet. One thing is for certain, The Golden Horde will always be a project that aims to unite and implement awesome ideas together as a community.
