He’s the complete performer
Within 20 days of the launch of his debut song, Naagin, the video had crossed 1.2 million views and was the number one Indian song on YouTube
He might be just 21 years old but a conversation with him will tell you just how mature and sorted, Karan Arora aka KSA is. He was only in the fifth grade when he started humming and tapping tunes on his desk in school.
Inspired by his seniors, he urged his father to buy him a drum set so he could practice. He mastered the drums in no time, thanks to the videos on YouTube and eventually moved to learn the piano and the guitar. A self-taught musician, he even taught himself how to compose his own music, write lyrics and rap by watching videos. In the near future, he hopes to collaborate with Badshah and Divine to create music that appeals to all.
Within 20 days of the launch of his debut song, Naagin, the video had crossed 1.2 million views and was the number one Indian song on YouTube. It was also featured on the top 20 list on iTunes in India and the feeling, he tells us, was serene. The lyrics for this song have been penned by GOLD.
“I want to be the guy who does everything when it comes to music. Right from the lyrics, to compositions, even the thought behind the video must be mine. The videos that I make have to always be grand and different. Just like Honey Singh’s videos. Each one must stand out,” says the young musician. He gets his ideas and concepts from his personal life and observations of the people and situations around him.
His father has been his biggest support and has also been the producer of the videos that he created before his Sony Music India label release. Work is his only priority and so he believes in staying busy round the clock. “I am as workaholic as it gets. I hardly have any friends since I don’t have the time for anything other than my music,” he explains.
There are so many things that he hopes to achieve in the sphere of music. He wants to create a track for the super energetic Ranvir Singh and his favourite hero Akshay Kumar. Bollywood is his ultimate dream and he has already set out to achieve this, he tells us.
