I think everyone finds happiness in different ways. I don’t think people have to have a reason to be happy I think people can be genuinely happy without reason. I also think if someone has a reason to be happy it doesn’t automatically make them happy. There can be other factors that determine whether a person is happy or not. In this passage Frankl says happiness can’t be pursued directly it has to find you. Once someone finds their meaning in life it gives them reason to feel a sense of happiness but I disagree. I think if someone finds their vocation in life it will make them happy but I also think that one can be happy before that. Some people find happiness through other things like their passions, relationships, or personal growth. Happiness isn’t just found in ones purpose in life. One persons way of finding happiness isn’t the same way another person would find it. One person could find happiness within their family but another person would find happiness with being successful in their career. In the passage Frankl says, “ a human being is not not one in pursuit of happiness but rather in search of a reason to become happy.” He is saying that people have to search for a reason to be happy not just become happy. It is the search for the reason to find happiness that makes someone happy. When one finds a purpose or a meaning for their life is when someone truly becomes happy.
