The Good Life: Spring 2024
Feb 8, 2024

After reading the Alasdair MacIntyre’s “virtues and unity on Human Life”, I was quite confused and couldn’t understand what MacIntyre was trying to make points of and what the context behind this reading was. But after going over the discussion questions in class, I was able to understand it quite more. On page 306, MacIntyre was implying that “ We aren’t able to predict when things go wrong nor will we be able to predict what will occur next.” 9 times out of 10, we usually believe that this is bad. Whenever something unpredictable occurs, its usually something negative happening to us. But that can also be a good thing because it can teach us how to continue to push through those unexpected curve balls. Other times they can be positive. But It mainly depends on the situation and how that said person can move forward. — Adonis Jordan
