If you were to ask someone right now if they believe they are a great person there is a very high chance they will answer yes, but that is usually not as true as they claim. People will describe themselves in only a positive light, they are caring, diligent, and generous, however they never bring up the fact that they can also be lazy, arrogant, and rude. Of course, people do not leave those details out to deceive you they just view themself as the best version of themselves and fail to realize they are not always who they hope to be. No one is a straight up good or bad person, everyone is a mix of both but you do not often hear anyone describe others or themselves as a nuanced and complex being. People chose to ignore flaws in character rather than opening up to it, and when they realize what these flaws pertain to and that they are not a perfect ray of sunshine all the time that is when growth can start and one can start to become the best version of themselves. Deflecting the truth that you can be caring but also inconsiderate at times means you lack self-awareness, which is one of the most important traits to master as you try to achieve the good life you wish for so much.
