Week Blog 4

For the reading “Xunzi on bad human nature” there were some key points that may have changed my view on there were some key points that may have changed my view on how I see stated that “If people follow along with their inborn dispositions and obey their nature, they are sure to come to struggle and contention.” This is insinuating that because of this, humans will be led to turn to violence, danger, anger, rudeness, etc… I never thought of it this way and my opinion has completely changed and now I understand this point of view. If humans were naturally good, then there would be no way to be provoked into violence or chaos. Humans are only good if they put forth the effort to be good. Xunzi also pointed out that in order to be a good human you need guidance. Whether that be from teachers, parents, advisor, friends, etc… You achieve things when you work hard at them expanding more on what I said previously, being good takes effort. Once humans put in the efforts to being good then that’s once its shown. So, in conclusion humans’ nature is bad but could change and be formed into good.
