It seems many young adults today have no direction in life and struggle to find their vocation. Vocation is a tye of work or lifestyle that is best suited for you and makes you want to give all your time and energy to it. Many young adults are just floating through life with no true motivation to find their vocation, but why is that? One of the reasons is the increase of mental health issues that they have to face. the mental health issues they face can lead them to feeling like their life lacks meaning and the world is unraveling around them so they feel there truly is no point of getting passionate about something. Another reason young adults are struggling to find their vocation is because they struggling with financial issues. If you are struggling and fighting to live day by day it becomes more and more difficult to search for a calling you are passionate about. Many people also go for a job that pays decently rather than a job they are passionate about because they need to focus on getting food on the table so they push their wants to the side. Finally, many young adults are told to chase their passion but never taught how to find their passion and they do not know that it can take time to find their vocation. Many people grow up being forced to think about what job they want to do from a very young age, and that can effect what they see as their vocation. They may have said since they were little that they wanted to be a cop but as they grew up their opinion changed, however now it feels too late to change their “dream job” so many young adults at that point continue pursuing that career even if they know they would be happier doing something else.
