I hope this finds you well. [PSA: In case you haven’t heard, we all should be behaving as if COVID-19 already infects us: isolating as much as possible, practicing rigorous hygiene, and limiting travel outside our homes.]

We are being bombarded daily by bad news about this pandemic. However, there is an abundance of good news coming that will help solve this pandemic crisis — much of which escapes the doom and gloom in the media.

In this issue, I’m changing my usual format to link to 12 stories that highlight technologies that will come together to defeat COVID-19.

Smart Thermometers Stopping the Spread of Contagious Illness Through Early Detection and Early Response

Good News: Kinsa is using more than a million internet-connected thermometers to track the flu better than the CDC. Now their algorithms can distinguish between outbreaks of the flu and COVID-19. Although currently out of stock, you can pre-order a device and Kinsa will give away a thermometer to a family in need!
