“If one were to give all the wealth of one’s house for love, it would be utterly scorned.” (Song of Songs 8:7 NIV)

It’s remarkable to think that a normal guy like me has something that many of the richest, most famous, and most powerful people in the world don’t have.

Married for eight years with three wonderful boys, I’m blessed with a great family and a great life. It’s not always easy, but nobody’s life is.

It’s easy to lose perspective. It’s easy to take the good for granted and to begin focusing on the challenges.

This is a reminder to be thankful for the people in your life. If you’re married, that begins with your spouse (even if things aren’t great right now).

A lot of things in this world can be bought but not love. Love cannot be earned. It can only be given, with the love of God being the prime example.

Stop trying to earn love, and stop trying to compensate for your lack of love with material things.

Are you loving and appreciating the people in your life?

Do something for them today.
