Fun Questions

  • If you could hang a giant sign in the city, what would you put on it?
  • What is something you love that most people don’t?
  • What is your favorite quote?
  • On your free day (no school or work), what time do you wake up?
  • What is the first thing you do when you wake up?
  • If you had to give a (TED) presentation, what topic would you choose?
  • Do you have any weird habits?
  • Can you remember the last time you spent an entire day without using a smartphone or computer?
  • If you had $100 to spend on one item, what would you buy? $1,000?
  • If you could be famous for one thing, what would it be? (anything: not just something you’re already good at)
  • If you could be the best in the world at anything you want, what would you choose?
  • Is there a skill you wish you had but don’t (or haven’t tried)?
  • If you could learn any language instantly, what would you choose?

Life Questions

  • What is something you have learned recently that has improved your life?
  • When was the last time you changed your opinion about something big?
  • What is the best advice you have ever heard?
  • Name three people who have had a big influence on your life.
  • Name one person that you don’t know personally who has had a big influence on your life.
  • If you had to study something different, what major would you choose?
  • What is your dream job?
  • If you knew you could not fail, what would you try?
  • What emotion do you feel most often?
  • What are three life-giving (restful) activities for you?
  • What is the best compliment you could receive? What kind of compliment makes you feel the best?

General “Check-In” Questions

  • What has God been teaching you recently?
  • What have you been thinking about a lot recently?
  • How is your schedule? Are you using your time well?
  • How is the relationship between you and your family?
  • How is the relationship between you and your boyfriend/girlfriend?
  • How do you feel about yourself?
  • What word best describes the past week?
  • What emotion have you felt the most this week?

Deep, Accountability Questions

  • Have you seen any sexually tempting material this week? Have your thoughts wandered?
  • How have you treated the people that are most important to you this week?
  • Have you gossiped this week?
  • Have you been critical or judgmental this week?
  • Have you given into any addictive behavior this week?
  • Do you have any unresolved anger or unforgiveness?
  • Have you secretly wished for another person to fail so that you could succeed or feel better about yourself?
  • How are you doing with your classes? Are you going to all of them all the time? Are you struggling with any? Have you asked for help from classmates or teachers?
  • How can I help keep you accountable?
  • Do you have a friend (other than me) who can hold you accountable?
  • If you could have a deeper, better relationship with one person, who would it be?
  • What characteristic would you most like to be known for? What do you think it actually is?

Spiritual Questions

  • How would you describe your relationship with God?
  • Have you had consistent devotional times this week?
  • What have you been reading about?
  • What are you learning about God? About yourself?
  • What are you currently trying to apply or grow in?
  • What have you been praying about?
  • What did you learn from a recent sermon/teaching that you are applying?
  • What prayer would you be most amazed by if God answered? (Often we believe God can but not that He will.)
  • Share a time when you felt really close to God. Why do you think you felt so close then?
