In the cold months, I return my attention to my houseplants.

One of the things I like to do is undust some of my plant-related books to refresh my memory about plants that require special care. This time, I also discovered an illustrated book for the young and not-so-young about one of the usual visitors to our gardens.

If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need.— Marcus Tullius Cicero

The Halloween Hare

The illustrated book, The Halloween Hare, for that child in your life and your inner child, by author, gardener, and podcaster Carol J. Michel, introduces you to the Halloween Hare, his family, and friends. You want to know what this hare does on Halloween night.

The Big Book of House Plants

One of the books I like to browse in the fall is The Big Book of House Plants by Emma Sibley.

This book is an excellent resource for tips about choosing plants, potting and tools, plant placement, watering, pet and plant considerations, and more.
