Are you curious about how gardening can make a significant impact on the planet?

The road to worldwide efforts promoting the health of our planet started with Earth Day organized on April 22, 1970.

Year after year, a vast global network of parks, local governments and agencies, schools, and various other organizations unite to orchestrate many activities worldwide, all in the spirit of celebrating Earth Day.

The 2024 theme, Planet vs. Plastics, calls to advocate for widespread awareness of the health risks of plastics, rapidly phase out all single-use plastics, urgently push for a robust UN Treaty on Plastic Pollution, and demand an end to fast fashion.

How can gardeners protect the planet?

Gardeners can take actions that positively affect the ecosystems and our planet like:

  • Fostering biodiversity so that gardens become havens for wildlife while sequestering carbon and mitigating climate change.
  • Using sustainable gardening practices that contribute to water conservation, ensuring efficient resource management.
