1: The Fifth Element

This classic 1997 sci-fi action film will keep you both laughing and on the edge of your seat. Directed by famed French director Luc Besson, the plot follows Korben Dallas (Bruce Willis), a cab driver and former military officer, who ends up in an adventure to save the Earth. With the help of a strange woman named Leeloo (Milla Jovovich), he must find four magical stones that will help in the battle to defeat an evil force heading towards Earth.

2: Spy Kids

From the mind of director, Robert Rodriguez comes a comedic spy adventure film that will have the entire family watching. The plot follows siblings Juni and Carmen Cortez (Daryl Sabara; Alexa PenaVega) as they find out that their completely unassuming parents (Antonio Banderas; Carla Gugino) are actually secret spies. In order to save them from a diabolical villain (Alec Cumming), they must team up, get the finest spy gear available, and spring into action.

3: I Am Legend

This post-apocalyptic horror film is one of the more suspenseful yet intriguing dramas on our list. The plot follows a US. Army medical doctor (Will Smith), as he is the last remaining survivor on Earth after an infectious disease turns humans into ravenous zombies. With his fateful dog companion Sam, he tries desperately to find other survivors and develop a cure to save humankind.

4: Friday the 13th (2009)

This 2009 remake of the terrifying slasher film is one that will keep you asleep at night. The plot follows young teen Clay Miller (Jared Padalecki) as he and groups of friends enjoy the summertime at Camp Crsytal Lake. However, Jake is really in search of his sister Whitney (Amanda Rhigetti) as she went missing six weeks before he got there. Little does Jake know that the murderer Jason Voorhes (Derek Mears), who plans to take no captives anytime soon, has kidnapped her.

5: Pineapple Express

From the hilarious minds of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg comes a 2008 stoner comedy that will have you in stiches. The plot follows Rogen’s character Dale Denton, who after he and his marijuana dealer Saul Silver (James Franco) meet each other to make a deal, witness a murder. When the officer notices them, the two men flee from the two hitmen of the victim (Craig Robinson; Kevin Corrigan) and a corrupt police officer (Rosie Perez) out to finish the job and leave behind no evidence.
