Whether you’re wildly tech savvy, a lover of the natural world, a combination of both, or anything in between, the Ecosystem offers a dynamic, interactive experience, all while providing you with fresh, nutritious produce, 365 days a year.

A Connected Device

Constructed out of amber bamboo, The Ecosystem is striking: fish gliding through the aquarium, a soft glow emanating from above the canopy of growing plants, clean, modern lines framing it all.

But it’s what’s inside the Ecosystem, the parts that create the sum, that make this device so truly revolutionary.

From The Ground Up

A ⅜” acrylic, 25 gallon aquarium, outfitted with integrated aeration, lighting and partial undergravel filter, is the base that the Ecosystem rises from. Your fish live here, and it’s where the aquaponic process starts. Fish waste is converted, through a bacterial process into nitrites and nitrates.

A 320 gal/hr pump brings this nutrient rich solution to the Ecosystem’s first, and second grow beds. It’s here that an endless combination of leafy greens, fragrant herbs, and flavorful fruits uptake these nutrients. Through the photosynthetic process your plants convert the light energy, nutrients, and water into sugars, giving off pure, refreshing oxygen while providing you with delicious, healthy produce.

Seedling Tray:

230 sq inches, 8 inches of grow clearance, 3 inches of growbed space for roots to grow into.

The Ecosystem’s first grow bed is like a nursery, and it’s where the most sensitive greens in the Grove line up begin their life. A 20 watt, in-house designed LED lighting fixture, specifically engineered to support the growth of young seedlings and leafy greens shines down from above the grow bed, fostering early, vibrant growth.

Main Growbed:

305 sq inches, 28 inches of grow clearance, 8 inches of growbed space for roots to grow into.

The second growbed in the Ecosystem is where your bigger plants put down roots. A 200W max power LED lighting system that incorporates a continuously variable spectrum, shines down plant optimized white light onto your endlessly evolving garden. Peppers, fruits, hearty greens, and anything else that requires more space, light, and nutrients, lives here.

More Than Meets the Eye

Lead electrical engineer Mike Z runs tests on prototype LED lights.

The aquarium, upper and lower grow beds, and LED lighting arrays are striking, but it’s what you don’t see, that makes The Ecosystem so truly revolutionary.

A dense array of sensors have been expertly arranged through the Ecosystem. Working in tandem with the Grove OS app these sensors keep you updated, through a dynamic monitoring system. Real time air temperature, humidity, water temperature, and water level alerts keep you connected to the inner workings of your Grove.

The Ecosystem’s LED lights don’t just turn on and off, they mimic the rise and fall of the sun, gradually building intensity throughout the day, then slowly ‘setting’ as night approaches.

Integrated fans regulate air movement, encouraging plant strength and development by creating gentle breezes, strong wind gusts, and everything in between. Just like nature, struggle breeds strength.

Getting Connected

The Ecosystem is the first dynamically connected growing system of it’s kind, with the smart device accessible Grove OS app allowing you full remote control from the comfort of your living room, office, or a tropical beach 1000 miles away.

Smart updates, system status alerts, and real time visual monitoring draw you deeper into your Ecosystem experience. The ability to control your LED lighting system’s intensity, spectrum, and cycle, as well as airflow and watering schedule, puts you in the drivers seat.

Time to get Growing

The Ecosystem allows you to grow food 50–75% faster than traditional outdoor gardening, with a 50% greater density at harvest, and is 2x more productive per square foot than outdoor gardening, all while bringing the beauty of the natural world into the comfort of your home.
