Hide and Seek
Seek and Find
This morning, I wrote and published what I considered a mess of a story. It touched on leaders and followers, meandered into Green Bay Packers football territory (weird?) and came to an awkward end.
I deleted it. That’s the first time I’ve done that. It was scratching and chaffing me like a wool sweater.
The angle I took did not suit me as a writer. My strength lies in writing stories with a personal component, including people or events I’ve experienced. As a reader, those are the stories that whisper sweet nothings in my ears. What I wrote this morning, wasn’t that. I should not have published it.
A gem of interest was nestled inside that messy tumble, about a family I know. It’s been set it aside to sparkle another day.
Today I took a step of discovery, leading to voice and style. A healthy pursuit continues.
Hide and seek. Seek and find. One step, one story at a time, destiny unfolds.
