HackRU Fall 2018 is being held October 6–7 at the College Avenue Student Center! (Registrations are now closed.)

This post is the fourth one of a weekly series, HackRU Testimonials!

We asked those who have attended a previous HackRU, whether as a hacker, volunteer, mentor, or organizer, to share a few words about their experience at HackRU.

Dhruvil Patel

“HackRU is a place where undermined ideas come to reality with great teamwork by exploring APIs and other tools in 24 hours. Meeting talented people in the field, sharing thoughts, MLH Cup Stacking event, and free gigs were the most exciting things about my experience.”

Elaine Huang, Neuroscience and Philosophy, Senior

“HackRU is where my programming journey began — I actually downloaded Python at my first HackRU. The focused and collaborative environment, coupled with the presence of patient mentors, was incredibly conducive to learning. I felt welcome even as a complete novice to computer science!”

Ben Yang

“HackRU Spring 2018 was a really fun and exciting experience — from food to workshops to speakers, the venue really had everything! But aside from all that, it was also a really great experience to just sit down and learn with other people, regardless of whether they were my friends or not. While I wasn’t able to finish my project, I was really happy that I learned something valuable at the end of the day.”
