The 21st Annual Haddonfield Memorial High School Charity Volleyball Marathon will be held at the high school gym on Friday, Feb. 8.

The 12-hour marathon begins at 8 p.m. and ends Saturday morning.

This fun-filled event is a favorite of many students and teachers.

Last year 280 students participated and raised over $22,000! The money raised last year went to the Operation Smile Foundation, Ronald McDonald House, Robin’s Nest, and the Leatherback Trust.

To participate in the marathon, the team captains must find $100 in sponsorship and each player is asked to raise at least $60 from friends, family and neighbors.

Players that raise $75 or more receive the official HMHS Volleyball t-shirt donated by Dr. Amy James.

The students dress in their team colors, play 25-minute volleyball games to incredibly loud music and consume a ton of food!

For this event to happen we need over 60 volunteers.

Currently, we are looking for volunteers for the midnight-4 a.m. shift, and the 4 a.m. to 8 a.m. shift.

Doctors and/or nurses are also needed to cover all shifts.

If you’d like to volunteer as a referee, a chaperone, or a medical professional (for the occasional bumps and bruises), please email Beth Pease lpease1@comcast.net or, if you would like to donate food, please email Ann Carson johncarson9@verizon.net.
