Cooper River Fest on Sept. 28

On Sept 28, the 20th anniversary of National Public Lands Day, volunteers all along the Cooper River watershed (Gibbsboro to Camden) will unite for the first annual Cooper River Fest. Volunteers will spend the morning in stewardship activities (clean-ups, trail tending, and nature walks) followed by a family-style picnic and meet-and-greet at Cooper River Park. This year’s theme: “Connecting Cooper Communities”.

There are currently 9 clean-up sites in Voorhees, Cherry Hill, Haddonfield, Haddon Township, and Pennsauken. See map at:

Inez Korff is a teacher in the Cherry Hill Public School District who has been awarded numerous grants for environmental and global education. Terence Smith is an artist and local activist who envisioned the Cooper River Fest after organizing a single-site river clean-up last May. They reside in Haddon Township.
