Halloween events on tap tonight in Haddonfield

Annual parade, haunted mansion part of public celebration in borough

The Haddonfield Celebrations Association would like to remind borough residents that the annual Halloween Parade and Jack-o-Lantern Spooktacular is set for this evening.

Line up is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Chestnut Street and Kings Highway and the parade procession is expected to begin at 6:30. The route will progress along Kings Highway and head to the parking lot behind Borough Hall. Kids, adults and pets are welcome to attend in their best seasonal finery. Prizes will be given out

The HCA is also encouraging borough residents to illuminate the parade route by carving up a pumpkin and placing it along the parade route for judgment in the inaugural pumpkin-carving contest. Awards will be given for the scariest, funniest and most creative jack-o-lanterns.

In addition, the Haddonfield Historical Society invites the public, particularly kids in grades 2–5, to experience Greenfield Hall’s transformation into a bona fide haunted mansion. Lasting from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., it will offer lights-out spooky tours of the interior. Light refreshments will be served in the back garden. Admission is $3 for children, $5 for adults, with tickets being sold at the door.

This year, the Historical Society will also be offering spooky story time in the back garden for younger visitors who aren’t sure about taking the inside tour.
