Michael Patrick King passed away on Nov. 25. He was the beloved husband of Jane (nee Gifford) of Haddonfield, NJ; loving father of Stacey King, Gifford King, Matthew King and Jenny Dembergh and cherished grandfather of 6.

Judge King graduated from Haddonfield Memorial High School (Class of ’52), attended Georgetown University, transferred and graduated from Fordham University. He received a masters in judicial studies from University of Virginia and a Law Degree from Pennsylvania Law School in 1959. He was a partner at Kisselman, Deighan, Montano, Deighan, King & Summers (1960–72) before he was appointed to the Camden County District Court Bench. He moved to Camden County Court, Superior Court and then to the Appellate Division where he presided for 25 years. Judge King was a real intellectual, a great reader and a wonderful sense of humor. He was actively interested in community affairs, coached Little League and served as counsel to the Haddonfield Planning Board from the mid-1960s until his appointment to the bench.

Judge King’s family and friends are invited to his Memorial Service on Friday, Dec. 8, at 12 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 401 Kings Hwy N, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.
