Exploring Generative Art with Structure Synth (#2)

I got a taste for more generative art. See my earlier article (link) on this topic, or a introduction on the used software and my first attempts.

Note: I am writing this much later (and rapidly) than I created the renders. Also I have about 6 other stories in draft with more generative art! A sneak preview at the end of the article ;).

#1 — No Name

Not my fav, but important for the reference to the used code from where the journey started.

//based on script from http://home.planet.nl/~serem000/raying.htmlset maxdepth 3000R1set scale 0.2rule R1 w 10 { { x 1 rz 3 ry 5 s 1.001} R1{ s 1 2 0.1 hue 36 } sphere }rule R1 w 10 { { x 1 rz -3 ry 5 hue 0.1 sat 0.999 } R1 { s 1 1 5 } mesh{x 2 s 1 sat 0.999 } sphere}

EARTHWORM IN THE LIGHT

With little alterations, a different kind of structure emerged.

THE TRAGEDY OF THE MINORITY
set maxdepth 60000R1set scale 0.2rule R1 w 10 { { x 1 rz 3 ry 5 s 1.001} R1{ s 1 2 0.1 hue 0.01 } sphere }rule R1 w 100 { { x 1 rz -3 ry 5 hue 0.03 sat 0.9999 } R1 { s 1 1 1 } sphere{x 2 s 1 s 0.9 sat 0.9999 } sphere}

EARTHWORM IN THE DARK

Kept playing and loved the contradiction of closer, yet smaller.. Lost the code in the proces though, it was similar as the one above.

See previous code,
WITH SOME MORE OBJECTS
AND DIFFERENT SATURATION

PUKE OF PLANETS

Loved the effect, gave up on colouring..

set maxdepth 6000R1set scale 0.2rule R1 w 100 { { x 1 rz 3 ry 5 s 1.001} R1{ s 1 2 0.1 hue 0.01 } sphere }rule R1 w 10 { { x 1 rz -3 ry 5 hue 0.06 sat 0.999 } R1 { s 1 1 1 } sphere{x 2 s 1 s 0.9 b 0.000001 sat 0.999 } sphere}

MERRYGOROUND

This one struck a nerve in me and I decided to touch it up with photoshop a bit. My old me exploring in cinema 4D would have loved this outcome. And today me can see the potential for more ;). It made me think of Christmas, but preferred this name with the reference in Merry.

//Based on script by http://home.planet.nl/~serem000/raying.htmlset maxdepth 160set scale 0.0000228 * { rx -3 ry 12 rz -2.8 z -1.2 hue 2} r1rule R2 { { x 70 y 40 z -0.30 } r2 { s 50 b 0.01} sphere }rule R1{ { x 50 y 1.4 z 1 rx 0 ry 0 rz 8 s 1.045 } R1 { s 25 } box }rule R3{ { x 34 y 10 z 20 rx 50 ry 50 rz 10 s 1.04 } R3 { s 35 35 200 h 5 } mesh}

A LITTLE PUSH

This piece sparked my interest to take this to another level. Still generated in StructureSynth.

However, I am starting the feel the need to explore this in a bit more modern software. Therefore for next pieces I am switching software!
