combines in the fields
harvesting months of farmers’
toils, tears, hopes, and prayers
— —
Starting last week, I began to see tan dust raising out of the local fields, a sure-fire sign that combines have moved into the fields and started harvesting. While soybeans were in the ground last, they get harvested first here in Southwest Ohio. Soon enough, they will move on to corn. Finally, they will start preparing their fields for next summer where the cycle starts all over again.
