frost in the bottoms
ice crystals painting the fields
just a touch paler

We had our first frost of the season yesterday, but only in the valleys where the cold air settles. Every morning, I pass by a field that’s been allowed to return to its natural state. The frost toned down what normally is a riot of color. While less vivid, the site was no less beautiful.
