morning, noon, and night
the sound of the grain drier
echoing through bare trees

Late November finds farmers in their fields harvesting corn well into the night. While putting the dog outside well after midnight last night, I could hear the grain being dried in the silos of the farm near our neighborhood. Yes, it’s loud, but it’s also part of the rhythm of life here in Southwest Ohio and I take some comfort in the fact that life is proceeding as it should.
