I’m one step away
from completing my journey
with much gratitude

To be honest, I wrote Haiku 2023–365 several weeks ago when the perfect thought on how to round out this year-long journey popped into my head. On the other hand, Haiku 2023–364 found its way out of my fingers just fifteen minutes ago.
To get to 365, there has to be a 364.
Some haiku on this journey have damn near written themselves while others had to be clawed out of nothingness with shear will and bare hands. I’m grateful for each and every one of them, even the ones that aren’t that good, because they built the edifice that allows me to see the universe from a different perspective. If I’ve been the least bit lucky, they will have, on occasion, done the same for you.
