« Do you really think I have the time for this? I’m trying to get into medical school, for God’s sake. » Well, that’s my attempt at giving hair advice failing miserably. Every time I talk to her about how to improve her hair routine, she tells me she’s just happy with the way her hair is and how she looks after it. She’s always been very outspoken; it‘s something that I really love about her. I wish she would listen to me, though. She has such great hair. Yeah, I guess it runs in the family. No but seriously, where do those curls come from? The thing I admire the most about her is how she’s always just gone along so comfortably with her natural hair. If « feeling comfortable about oneself » was a word, she would be the perfect example of that word. I’ll just keep my advice to myself, for now.

The Hair Stories used to be an ode to inspirational women whom I talked to about their hair. The Hair Stories have now transformed into a weekly blogpost where I talk about the history and politics of hair.
