The Lancet recently published a four-part study on obesity: The Global Obesity Pandemic, The Health and Economic Burden of Projected Obesity Trends in the USA and the UK, Quantification of the Effect of Energy Imbalance on Bodyweight, and Changing the Future of Obesity. And that’s how you write a visually engaging first sentence. No, but the Times summarizes it neatly in an “in my day, we walked to school uphill both ways” piece here. The answer to obesity, per the study’s authors, apparently comes in three parts: 1) a tiny tax, 2) fussier nutrition labels, and 3) less advertising to children. Hm. What about yogurt? And water?
