Who Smokes and Where?

Fewer than 13 percent of us now smoke, but in certain states a vast swath of us keeps on puffing. Slate visualizes current data on smoking by state and by age in this map. What’s not surprising: in most states, greater than 20 percent of people aged 18–35 smoke “at least sometimes.”
