More Than Just A Kids Show:

In the spirit of Netflix finally releasing the ability to watch Avatar: The Last Airbender on its platform, and as a serious fan, I felt it was necessary to express my thoughts and feelings on the animated series.

AVTLA originally premiered on Nickelodeon back in February of 2005. As a 15-year-old kid at the start of the series, I felt like I could relate to the characters being close in age and with a similar mindset.

I was also completely enthralled with the “stories” within the story. There was a reason for all that happened to each character.

It was like a beautifully woven tapestry of emotions, experiences and destinies. As the series continued, I viewed “team avatar” as strong, loving, supportive, and courageous. Each individual brought a different personality and set of skills to the newly formed family. A family that included primarily Sokka, Katara, Aang, and Toph.
