If you’re struggling to find the perfect startup or product idea, stop.

Instead focus on creating content and sharing your ideas with the world.

That’s what we did. And more and more are adopting this approach.

We didn’t ‘launch’ The Happy Startup School, we shared our ideas, values and knowledge through blogging, creating videos & decks, gave talks and had hundreds of conversations.

More than 114,000 of you are now part of our Medium community as a result of the work we put in in the early days.

By speaking out loud, we found clarity, sharpened our message and slowly started to build a loyal tribe that loved us and needed more support.

In short: we worked it out along the way with them.

I say this to early stage founders all the time: explore opportunities whilst building your following.

Don’t build it and hope that they will come.

Over time the opportunities to create products & services will become clearer.

And your customers will feel more connected to you and your story, and the things you end up creating to help them.

But it takes courage, the support of others and, most importantly, getting out of your own way.

Join us (Laurence, Carlos & Lana) for a special Crowdcast this Thursday lunchtime at 12pm BST along with some special guests from our 2020 Vision tribes, founders and content creators at different stages of their journey:

  • Beckie Waters from new inclusive fitness community An_Other
  • Podcasting coach & consultant Mark Steadman from his new venture Origin.fm
  • Liliana Ashton from new corporate wellness platform BreatheNowHub

We’ll share our experience of leading with content and community before selling a product or service whether you’re:

  • an expert who wants to teach then share your knowledge before selling a course or program
  • an enthusiast who’s learning out loud and sharing progress to connect with others on the journey
  • a curator who loves to collect useful resources then package them up in a way that makes it easier for others to access and digest.

All of these approaches can help you build a community and audience who you can then serve with new products and services.

It’s going to be fun and packed full of useful nuggets you can use in your own journey.

Register here to join us on Thursday 19th July 12–1pm BST

Or follow the same link to access the recording immediately afterwards
