Happy July from Fandom Forward!
We’re Going Camping!

Our community has so much magic to share, and where better to show it off than at the best camp ever? Join us for Community Open Mic Night at our virtual Camp GLA, happening July 16–18! Grab your tickets before it’s too late!
WIZARDS IN SPACE PRESENTS: COMMUNITY OPEN MIC NIGHT
The schedule is live with dozens of incredible programs, but one program really pulls our heartstrings. We’ve all got art in our hearts, and it should be shared! The Community Open Mic, hosted by Wizards in Space Literary Magazine, is a mainstay of the Saturday night GLA experience. Community members will share original poetry, prose, and music with your fellow Campers!
Fighting the Climate Crisis
With the extreme heat in the Pacific Northwest and Western Canada this past week, and other unpredictable weather elsewhere in the world, it’s time to talk about the climate crisis. Fan activists have been doing their part to help stop the Climate Crisis. Here are a few examples:
- In 2011, we partnered with Splashlife to run a competition asking young activists to create art and come up with ideas to help fight the climate crisis.
- In 2018 we got the help of a fandom favorite character from the Fantastic Beast Movie — Pickett the Bowtruckle — to help raise awareness about how the crisis affects everything living on this planet, not just humans.
