Staffer of the Week

This week’s Staffer of the Week is Fletcher Irvine! Fletcher is one of our wonderful Ravenclaws, hailing from Scotland. He’s one of our social media copywriters and the organizer of the Edinburgh Unicorns chapter! Here’s what his nominator, Devra, has to say: “Fletcher has been a great part of the social media team, especially helping with Tumblr. I’m glad to be working with him.” If you want to know more about him, read on!

What social justice causes are you most passionate about?

• Trans rights and environmental sustainability

What was the first social justice action you took part in?

• I count Pride as a protest so my first Pride when I was eighteen!

Who is an activist that inspires you? Link their social!

• Munroe Bergdorf is a black trans woman who fights against the rising transphobia and racism in the UK. She’s @MunroeBergdorf on Twitter!

What is a personal activism goal you’re working on?

• I’m making a series of videos discussing transphobic rhetoric and trying to educate people on trans issues.

Fave HP book and why? (or favorite book of all time)

• Prisoner of Azkaban because we meet Remus and I’m a sucker for time travel.

Last show you binge-watched?

• Almost done with the She-Ra reboot and I’m loving it!

Favorite class you’ve ever taken in school?

• In high school my favourite class was Higher Physics, despite not being much of a STEM person. My teacher was just incredible and I’ll always remember the impact of a good teacher.
