Galentine’s Day was this week and we’re still feeling the love! Celebrate platonic love with the people around you. Let’s spread some love by diving into This Week in Wizard Activism.

Leslie Knope from Parks and Recreation is standing at a table filled with other folks, balloons beside her, saying, “Happy Galentine’s Day!”

Stay Tuned…

Lelise Knope, on the topic of Galentine’s Day, is saying, “It’s wonderful and it should be a national holiday.” Monday IS a national holiday and we have some WONDERFUL news…

We have some BIG announcements coming on Monday, February 17th that you won’t want to miss! Keep a close eye on our social media…

Hero Training

The Harry Potter Alliance has been training new and experienced leaders alike for over a decade, and you won’t find training quite like ours anywhere else. This week, we hosted a training in Rochester, NY with 4-H Unity Program!

We’d love to be a part of your group’s journey — learn more here!

Staffer of the Week

Our Staffer of the Week this week is Kara Greenberg! Kara is a Ravenclaw from Connecticut who does analytics for our Instagram account. Her anonymous nominator said, “Kara has been a part of our social media analytics crew for a long time now. I admire her reliability and intelligence! She is truly a master at analytics and has helped us so much with instagram in particular, but also with lots of other projects!!” Amazing! Thank you so much, Kara!!

Now let’s get to know her even more.

What social justice causes are you most passionate about?

  • As a teacher I’m focused on educational equity.

What was the first social justice action you took part in?

  • I’ve participated in various actions through my synagogue but the first major action I took part in was the March for Our Lives in 2018.

Fave HP book and why? (or favorite book of all time)

  • Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. I like that it’s a little off speed and we get to learn more about Harry’s parents.

Favorite class you’ve ever taken in school?

  • Graph theory! Or maybe number theory. I really like discrete mathematics.

Volunteer with Us!

Leslie Knope is sitting at her desk and talking to someone off camera saying, “We need to remember what’s important in life: friends, waffles, work. Or waffles, friends, work. Doesn’t matter, but work is third.”
