This Week in Wizard Activism: Support for Texas ❤
By Jessica Rozycki

Hey there everyone! Time for your weekly update for all things HPA.
What do we do when our neighbors, like Texas, need help?

Well okay, but let’s just focus on Texas for now. Storm survivors in Texas are facing wildly unanticipated challenges, from repairing burst pipes to sky-high electricity bills to replacing food lost during days without power. The HPA recently shared the Texas Weather Crisis Assistance resource that includes warming stations, food banks, mutual aid networks, volunteer and donation opportunities, and tips for staying warm, etc. If you are looking to donate, please visit Feed the People Dallas, Houseless Organizing Coalition (Houston), Austin Mutual Aid, or Corpus Christi Mutual Aid. We will continue to share more resources and organizations on Twitter that are helping impacted individuals and families across Texas.
How to manage volunteers like the a pro (aka, like the HPA)

The HPA has worked with remote volunteer staffers for over 15 years, so in a time where more nonprofits are turning to digital volunteers, we’re spilling all of our tried and true secrets. Our staff of 50+ remote volunteers are all ages and based around the world, and because of their dedication we’ve been able to make a lot of magic. To learn more about how we do it, check out our Virtual Volunteer Management Guide, written by Campaigns Department Manager and a longtime HPA volunteer herself, Sara Mortensen!
Time to take your Wizard Activism to the next level

Join the HPA fam as a volunteer!

We’re always looking to expand the HPA family! Check out our open volunteer positions and how to apply on our website.
Thank you for reading and try not to be too sad that it’s over.
