30 Hard Truths You Won’t Get From Tim Denning.

I might’ve opened something I shouldn’t have, but what we’re told we shouldn’t do, is often what we should do in the end.

True terror is to wake up one morning and discover that your high school class is running the country.” Kurt Vonnegut

Before you say, “How dare you attack Tim Denning,” please hear me out on this one. Tim’s given a lot of good advice over the years. He deserves full credit for that. But I also figure he can’t possibly know all the sage advice out there. So before he figures the rest (and he will), here are 30 truths never published before — at least, not by him—or anyone I know.

Here goes:

1)Stop asking God for wisdom. God doesn’t give wisdom. He gives mistakes. If you aren’t willing to learn from your mistakes, then you’re going to get a lot more of them in the future.

2) Stop posting inspirational quotes on Facebook and Linkedin. If they really worked, you’d keep them to yourself and be wildly self-satisfied.

3) If you can’t believe in yourself, don’t expect others to do it for you. That’s like asking a cat to meow for you. It changes the whole dynamic of why a cat meows in the first place.

I did a poor imitation of Don Draper for 40 years before writing my first novel. I'm currently in the final stages of a children's book. Lucky me.
