Now that many of us are heading back to work after weeks of the enforced family togetherness and/or soul-sucking loneliness that coronavirus-imposed stay-at-home orders have brought, we’re likely seeing a few changes when we return to the office. No matter whether your officemates were furloughed, succumbed or simply disappeared without a trace after being locked into the building when your workplace shut down without warning, you’ll quickly notice that your employer has been busy rearranging the desk chairs on your particular Titanic. While this may be a tragedy for some, it could be an opportunity for you to finally get away from the annoying co-worker you’ve been sitting next to since you started there a decade or so ago.

Although it’s an opportunity to move up in the world, it’s also important to choose carefully or you’ll just end up stuck sharing a cubicle wall with co-worker whose only redeeming quality is their (temporarily enforced) social distance.
