An Interview with Sherlock Holmes
This is part of the launch of my FBN, Fictional Broadcasting Network.
In light of recent changes at Medium, I’m diversifying my writing portfolio. Part of that will be the launching of my FBN. Once again, that’s Fictional Broadcasting Network, not to be confused with the Fox Broadcasting Network. While both make limited use of actual facts, I’m up front about it.
As Fox News can attest to, not being bound by facts can be liberating when providing content. I will be taking full advantage of this, even snagging interviews with fictional and dead people. I’m kicking this this venture off with an interview with legendary and fictional detective, Sherlock Holmes.
Larry: So, Mr. Holmes,
Holmes: Call Sherlock. Just not Shirley, my brother, Mycroft, use to call me Shirley.
Larry: Ok, Sherlock, tell me about your decoctive reasoning process.
Sherlock: Well, it involves presenting a premise, and if the premise holds true in all situations, it’s assumed to be true. If the premise doesn’t hold up in all situations, it’s erroneous.
Larry: Sort of like trial and error.
Sherlock: No, do you think I would be recognized as a brilliant detective if I used trial and error? Nobody was going to say, “Great trial and brilliant…
