My parents taught me that I shouldn’t burn bridges as I never know when I may need help from someone. Whether that be through a reference or even a job to pay off some crippling debt that has arisen out of nowhere.

Always keep the door open and end every relationship amicably.

These were the wise words courtesy of my dear old Papa.

However, I choose to ignore this advice completely.

I am here to preach the exact opposite.

No backward steps. If you don't like your job and know that it is not your true calling, it is time to do something about it. For good. And I am not talking about staying professional and leaving on good terms. Never leave the door open. Slam that door well and truly shut.

So today around 10 am, I decided I had enough of my job. I was working from home and got a passive-aggressive email from my manager for some of the work I had been producing as of late. And that was all it took. On a whim I thought, to hell with this, I quit.
