Looking for Recommendations. Also, There is an Airplane in Our Yard

Olde North Charleston

Hello Neighbors!

We’re brand new to the North Charleston ‘hood but wanted to use good ol’ Nextdoor to say a big thank you to all of you for being so welcoming to our family and to maybe get some guidance from you veterans of the area. We’re still getting settled in but we hope to have many of you over for a housewarming once we’re not living out of all of these boxes!

Also — this may sound crazy but there is what sure looks like a smashed-up airplane in our backyard.

So, what kinds of things do you and your families do on the weekend? We want to dive right in on the local fun so would love to hear how folks “get into trouble” around here (lol). I saw something today about a flower arranging workshop, has anyone done that before? Green thumbs up or down?

Now that I am thinking about it, did anyone else hear a really loud boom Sunday afternoon? I thought maybe it was a transformer or something but Eddie (hubby — you will all love him) said he thinks it may be somehow related to the airplane out back.

My gang LOVES fresh produce. Are there any “can’t miss” farmer’s markets you would recommend? Also, if anyone has a fave brunch spot, please share! (and just like that I am starving!)

Oh, Eddie poked his head in a bit ago and he says that he thinks the airplane looks like some kind of military jet. Has this kind of thing happened around here before?

So, what do we know about this “Fossil Friday” at the Charleston Museum? Has anyone with young children checked that out? Good or a snooze fest?

I am desperate for after school activities this week what with the airplane/military jet, out back. The darn thing has been smoldering since it showed up so I’m hesitant to let the kids out into the yard and they are bouncing off the walls! What number do I call for jet disposal? Ha-Ha!

Last one — I promise — which restaurant has the best, reasonably priced burgers? Wednesdays are usually burger night! Come join!

Anywho — thanks again for the warm welcome and thanks in advance for any answers to my post.

Does anyone else hear what sounds like very low hovering helicopters? I guess there is never a dull moment in our North Charleston!
