“Travel Restrictions on Americans Erode a Sense of Passport Privilege” — The New York Times

Fold each page of your passport into the shape of an iconic European landmark you won’t be visiting this year. La Tour Eiffel usually tops everyone’s list!

Curl a single page into a cone shape, and place it on your head. You are now enjoying a socially responsible party of one.

Draw a full body portrait of yourself in just your underwear. Cut the pages into travel-inspired paper doll outfits––might we recommend: A pair of elephant pants and a Fodor’s guide? A neck pillow and compression socks? Matador horns and a speech bubble that says, “Sólo un Poquito”?

Glue blank pages on top of the existing pages, and write a tiny novel on them. Don’t be surprised when that tiny novel turns out to be a word-for-word rewrite of “The Yellow Wallpaper.” This has been happening a lot lately.

Roll a page into a tube shape. Use it as a telescope or to snort cocaine.

Cut pages into pretty shapes, like stars and angels, and attach them to a string. These ornaments will come in handy when this is still happening in December (2021).

With study abroad now defunct, it’s up to you to give a teenager a taste of the eye-opening experience. Use an assortment of Sharpie markers to draw a colorful beanie and skateboard onto your passport photo. Give it to a 19-year-old to buy booze (very believable), and instruct them to wake up in a train station.

Put your passport in a Papyrus envelope, and decorate the outside with fun stamps and glitter pens. Then mail it off to Syria, and hope to Dear God someone there can make use of it.

Grab the kids, and soak your passports in tea. This will make the pages look like documents from the early days of this country, when our founding fathers first laid down the foundation for this disaster.
