Do Chicken Wings Come From Baby Chickens?
“They don’t!” cried the man at the bar. “They do!” was the reply from his attractive female companion.
The bar was packed. The Philadelphia Eagles were playing the hated Dallas Cowboys for first place in the National Football Leagues NFC East. The winner would go the playoffs and receive the benefit of a first round bye.
The beer was flowing like the nearby Delaware River after Hurricane Cindy.
There weren’t enough seats to accommodate the throng of reveling Eagle fans.People were standing five deep in front of the seats that were in front of the bar. A bank of flat screens were hung on the wall over the liquor bottles in back of the bar. Five or 6 hustling bar tenders were giving more than generous pours of hard liquor and wine. The were popping tops off of IPA’s as fast as they could.
There were probably twenty tables in the room with seating for around 80 more fans. The place was jammed. Patrons in chairs surrounding the tables were facing various televisions placed on opposing walls all tuned in to Eagles — Dallas.
It was around the 3rd quarter I heard the argument.
Apparently there was a couple at the bar about two stools away from me. Their voices were elevated to the point…
