California — The Right Wing’s Poster Child For The Excesses Of Wokism
And the greatest fucking state in the union!
My grandma lives in Florida. She tells me about people who come to her condo to do work. Each of them, she informs me, when they learn that she has family in California, extends their sympathies. Because they have heard how terrible it is in Cali, with the homelessness and the shoplifting and everything out of control.
This is thanks to Fox News of course, and the other right-wing media outlets that seem obsessed with bashing California as a “liberal hellscape.”
It sounds like sour grapes to me.
There are many reasons they are sour, but of course. The big three are the culture war ones. Gun control, the right to have an abortion, and gay rights.
Cali is firmly in favor of all of those things, by about 80 to 20 percent.
I’m happy to say that this May the State Supreme Court upheld the AR-15 weapons ban.
There’s a reason that most of the mass shootings happen in places without an assault rifle ban. Duh.
