Consciousness. I could feel something tickle my back. I had control. After so long. I could move if I think about it. Slowly opening eyes. Light. Bright light. I have limbs. Four limbs, and five small limbs on top of them. My limbs folded, stood on my bottom limbs. I had a body, long after being a tiny light in my father’s presence. Father pointed to another being who had similar bodily features. He was my better half, I was informed. I was made from half of his heart. I decided to follow him.

He was surprised when he saw me. I felt a strong connection to him. He kept on walking along the path. I followed him. He looked back with a distorted face. I did not understand it. He had a pretty face. He liked to distort it. I kept following him all the way. He picked a long yellow, slender soft object from the tree, peeled its skin without regard, and put it in the opening on his face. I did the same. Taste.

I asked him what it was called. He didn’t have a name for it. I suggested calling it a ‘Banana’. I asked him what his name was. He said he didn’t need any. I decided to call him ‘Adam’. I asked him where he was going. He turned back, distorted face. We came upon flowing water. It was elongated, curved in places, sometimes wide, and then thinner. I couldn’t see where the water came from, or where it disappeared. I asked him what it was called. He didn’t have a name, again. I decided to call it a ‘River’. A lot of creatures were putting their mouths in it and doing a back and forth motion with a hidden limb. I did the same.

Father had told me, that I am to help Adam (I named him) and be with him. So I helped him name everything around so that we could talk about it later. He had not done that yet. He told me, he had been there for 5 days happily without thinking about everyone else. Then I came and disturbed his peace with a lot of talking. I felt like talking to him. He listened sometimes, I think. Often he distorted his face and walked away, couldn’t figure out what was that about. Once, he shrugged my hand and disappeared into the forest for four days. I was very lonely. I could not understand what the other creatures were saying. I felt like talking. I decided to go look for Adam. I found Adam sleeping in a tree. I felt so happy water started coming out of my eyes. I couldn’t understand it. I asked him not to leave me again. I missed him. Distorted face. We returned back to our old tree, near the river.

He did it multiple times. Disappeared in the forest and came back after days. I had made friends with a small wolf, and a green, longish, sliding creature who I called the ‘Snake’. Snake showed me the tree with the sweetest fruits. Adam did not trust the Snake. One day when Adam was sleeping after our swim, Snake took me to the tree and I ate the sweetest fruit ever.

Adam appeared from the back and we started running. There was chaos. Adam held my hand firmly and we were running. It was the first time he had cared for me. I felt butterflies in my stomach. We ran for a very long time. We rested outside the forest in a box shape. Adam called it a hut. I decided to call it ‘Home’.

I do not regret eating the fruit. I wish Adam could also taste it. He did not talk to me for days. He blamed me for destroying a perfect life. One day he walked out of the hut. I was scared he would never come back. He came back before the lights went out. He got me food. I kept our home clean. When we had our child, Adam was very perplexed with the tiny creature and confused about its origin. He thought it was a fish and decided to put it in water. Adam hadn’t noticed my swollen stomach in the past days. He is oblivious to most things including how I looked.

We lived in our home since that day. Adam made out home bigger eventually. We had five children. I always had a strange, ‘attached feeling’ towards Adam and all my children. I decided to call it ‘Love’. I told Adam about Love one day. He said nothing. Distorted face. I wish Adam loved me. He would never say anything of that sort.
