Cats are magnificent creatures. Their relationships with humans can be as complex as the human ones you see on reality television or your favorite daytime drama. Cats can be loving, and snuggly. But cats, like humans, also have boundaries.
If you cross that boundary, you may find yourself at the business end of one of their murder mittens or worse.
I’ve been a cat mom most of my life so I know a thing or two about winning over a pissed-off cat. When I lived in Memphis, Tennessee, my cat Nicky often could not contain her curiosity and would run outside when I opened the front door.
I guess she longed to explore the outside world she could only watch from the windows inside my apartment. She usually didn’t get too far and I could scoop her up before her paws hit the grass.
On one excursion, she evaded my capture.
She darted between apartment buildings and hid in the bushes. I’d run after her and she’d move to another bush. This little game of cat and human went on for the better part of an hour.
