Right nana, our Jacob is in college, so let me update you on some modern slang that he uses. I think for us three to exist as a strong family unit, we should get to grips with the lingo, which means language, for starters. I know you are attached to tubes and cannot speak, but let’s just try our very best, OK?

SIGMA

Sigma, as you well know, is the 18th letter of the Greek alphabet. Or maybe you don’t know, because mostly people only know alfa, beta, gamma and, at a push delta.

Sigma is simply a cooler much shorter way of saying “you are my 18th best friend”.

Sigma — a popular, successful, but highly independent and self-reliant person. Typically a male. One step above an alpha male. (all definitions from Urban Dictionary, so they may or may not be true, either.)

HIT THE GRIDDY

So, to hit the griddy means to go to bed.
