How to Learn the Language of Love on Netflix (With Added Nudity)
Every night I learn how to smoke, swear, and make sophisticated love on TV
They slow-dance across my screen at three-quarter speed, the continuous noise of their dialogue slowly separating into distinct words, some of which I’ve heard before. For a few seconds, I follow along. Then my eyes flit down to the subtitles, or, more often, get lost in the (always beautiful and often naked) actors, or the Parisian back-drop, or else my phone hits me in the face after I’ve dozed off to the soft poesy of the language.
But I persevere. Because I won’t go to to my grave speaking only English. It’s so dull. Blah, blah, blah, laptop.
