How To Write a Viral LinkedIn Post on Leadership in 3 Steps

If you want to express yourself as an expert in business, LinkedIn is the place to be. With more than 830 million users worldwide, the platform is ripe for sharing wisdom and growing an audience.

One of the more virulent topics is leadership, and with good reason. The topic has been covered for over a century in popular literature, scholarship, and of course, even the Internet.

If you’re looking to boost your own thought leadership on leadership, I’ve learned (from experience) the most direct way to meet your goal.

3 Steps to Becoming a Leading LinkedIn Leadership Thought Leader

It goes like this:

  1. Post something ambiguous about a completely unrealistic experience (you get bonus points if you tag popular or influential people)
  2. Insert some vague connection to the topic of leadership followed by some nonsense jargon or buzz phrase
  3. Finish with no fewer than 14 hashtags to make sure you cast the widest net possible
