I Forced a Bot to Read 36K Trump Tweets, and Subsequently Write Some of its Own

President Donald Trump’s tweets are hard to miss. He appears to begin his tweetstorm as he rolls out of bed every morning, followed by a bad interview, an even worse policy suggestion, the resignation of a top White House Aide, and finally end with an episode of “toilet paper stuck to my shoe”.

Here, on the other side of the world, I long for dinner time daily, not for the quenching of my hunger, but rather for his flurry of tweets. This is generally followed by snappy retorts and fact-checks by the Fake News outlets and “Dems” I follow.

There are several times when I have to check to make sure that a certain tweet does, indeed, originate from the @realDonaldTrump. It truly is awful.

Thus, in honor of our beloved Tweetiot, Twitler, and Tweeter-in-Chief, I decided to train a bot in the official Trump lingo. The bot was made to read all of Trump’s tweets from registration day to the first day of 2019, when he posted his New Year’s wish (painful, I know). The bot then wrote a few tweets in this newfound language. Here are the results.

I don’t know if the incomprehensibility of most tweets is the result of not training the bot well enough, or whether it’s a learned behavior from the President himself. Oh, and it’s highly unlikely that links generated by the bot are authentic, so you’d be better off not following any of them.

Note: None of these tweets are authentic, and this project was undertaken solely in the spirit of scientific learning and advancement. Please do not sue me. 🙂
